Beyond…Prod. è lieta di annunciare che i VERATRUM hanno siglato un accordo con la label e sono in dirittura di uscita con il nuovo secondo album “Mondi Sospesi” il prossimo 6 Aprile in tutto il mondo in formato CD con Poster e su tutte le piattaforme digitali! Il combo bergamasco dedito ad un personale sound incentrato su tematiche Black Death Metal si ripresenta sulle scene con un maturo album dopo il debutto del 2012 “Sentieri Dimenticati”!

Ecco cosa ha da dire la band a proposito di “Mondi Sospesi”: A due anni dall’uscita del loro secondo album, primo full-lenght, “Sentieri Dimenticati”, i Veratrum tornano sulla scena estrema italiana con “Mondi Sospesi”. Questo lavoro prosegue ed amplia le sperimentazioni musicali della band bergamasca proponendo un blackeneddeath metal sfaccettato e originale che richiama bands quali Behemoth, Belphegor, Dissection, Fleshgod Apocalypse e altre, pur mantenendo una notevole dose di originalità. Il sound monumentale ed aggressivo, sviluppato grazie al lavoro di YonathanRukhman per le registrazioni e Simone Mularoni (DominationStudios) per il mixaggio e master, si mescola ad atmosfere sinfoniche e progressive caratterizzate da tastiere, voci pulite e strumenti rari. I testi, esclusivamente in Italiano come nella tradizione della band, affrontano tematiche profonde ed introspettive, nell’arduo esperimento di unire metal estremo e poesia in un connubio metafisico e metaforico perfettamente catturato dalla surreale copertina dell’album, concepita e realizzata dal batterista Sabnok, come pure tutto il design grafico della release. Un album complesso, potente e tecnico che non può mancare alla collezione degli appassionati di metal estremo e non solo.

Dopo averlo suonato negli studi della BBC, due fra i più influenti ed importanti DJs della scena elettronica contemporanea portano in tour un progetto destinato a rimanere nella storia della dance. Ebbene sì: DJ SHADOWS e CUT CHEMIST intraprenderanno il “Renegades Of Rhythm Tour”. Si tratta di un tributo al pioniere dell’hip hop, ovvero Afrika Bambaata. Dietro la consolle, i due DJs ci stupiranno con una serata basata sui ritmi e sui campioni dei “must” discografici di Afrika Bambaata, considerato un vero e proprio rivoluzionario del “ritmo” dagli anni ’80 fino ai giorni d’oggi.

La tappa italiana del “Renegades Of Rhythm Tour” è prevista ai Magazzini Generali, il 18 febbraio prossimo. Sarà una serata davvero speciale, in compagnia della storia della musica hip hop ed elettronica.

Per la nostra rubrica “Giornate d’ascolto” abbiamo scelto questa volta un buon gruppo toscano attivo dal 2004, che per il decennale la band ha sfornato un altro bell’album solido e variegato appena uscito. A due anni dall’EP Nox Obscura Sortis i blackster Rexor presentano “Ut Humanitatem Caedant” secondo full-lenght. La release è stata curata da 3 etichette discografiche: Eastern Voice Records, Metallic Media e Black Candles Records.

“It’s beyond my personal demons, and extremely honest,” says LaPlegua of the fifth Combichrist album Making Monsters. With five albums, thousands of shows, and four full months in Europe touring with Rammstein (in front of hundreds of thousands of people), Combichrist has become a purely visceral creature, driven by instinct and emotion; stripped of all pretension. Its urgency – most evident in the raw and uncompromising new album – is fueled by expressions of lust, anger, pain and hate.
Presenting a foreboding soundscape, the album kicks off with a hauntingly atmospheric instrumental “Declamation,” setting the tone for what is to follow: dark, stabbing synths; heavy, robotic beats; and swarming, buzz saw-style guitar sounds. Songs such as “Follow the Trail of Blood” (featuring Brendan Schiepatti of Bleeding Through) are baretoothed aggression; meanwhile the floor-stomping, first single “Never Surrender” proves to be aggressively catchy, with its metronome-tight rhythm through the verses, giving way to explosive choruses that is bound to pack dance floors. “Through These Eyes of Pain” takes a much subtler approach. Its echo-y vocal wash and glitchy beats conjure images like a mournful dream, exposing the man inside the monster. Though the moods displayed in Making Monsters are decidedly sinister, LaPlegua manages to portray these emotions in many different guises. Laden with hook heavy choruses, speaker-crushing beats, and LaPlegua’s trademark dark, aggressive vocals, this is an album that exudes honesty and the darkness that often comes with it.
Initially cutting his teeth in the seminal Norwegian hardcore bands Fleshfire and Lash Out, LaPlegua segued out of that scene into the electronic music world with Icon of Coil. Originally a solo project, it morphed into a full band with the additions of Sebastian Komor and Christian Lund. Not only did IOC mark LaPlegua’s first major work with electronics and dance beats, but it also granted him wider exposure beyond Norway; IOC was LaPlegua’s first project to be released in the United States.
It wasn’t until 2003 that LaPlegua founded Combichrist – the project that would soon dominate his time. A departure from IOC’s futurepop sound, Combichrist took LaPlegua’s hardcore past and electronica present and merged them into a singular, mechanical music monster. Without the compromise of the band dynamic, LaPlegua, who does everything in the studio himself on Combichrist releases, was able to explore whatever avenue he desired musically. What he found was a long dark road with plenty of twists and turns. The Joy of Gunz, LaPlegua’s first release as Combichrist, was quickly followed by two EP’s: 2004’s Kiss the Blade and Sex Drogen und Industrial.
In 2005, LaPlegua was back at it again, releasing the landmark album Everybody Hates You. Defying the dreaded sophomore slump, the second Combichrist full-length featured two tracks that would become club classics—“This Shit Will Fuck You Up” and “This Is My Rifle”—and was also the project’s U.S. debut on Metropolis Records. Further benchmarks were set with the release of the 2006 EP Get Your Body Beat, the title track of which landed Combichrist its first appearance on Billboard’s Top 10 Dance Singles chart. The years that followed brought on two more full-length albums — What the Fuck Is Wrong with You People? (2007) and Today We Are All Demons (2009) — as well as a handful of additional EPs. On top of Combichrist’s many releases, LaPlegua has also logged countless miles, globetrotting on tours of Europe, South America, Australia, the United States and points in-between.
Though Combichrist has kept him busy over the past seven years, LaPlegua has other interests that fill the rare breaks from his main musical project. The Atlanta, GA – based songwriter maintains Panzer AG, a sonic hybrid of Combichrist and Icon of Coil and even plays in a straightforward American rock ‘n’ roll band, Scandinavian Cock. This affinity for Americana is also displayed in his love for hotrods and motorcycles. On his MySpace page, LaPlegua states, “I’m a Norwegian grease ball, and I’m never afraid to get dirty!” With Making Monsters, man and beast have combined, evolving beyond the demon it once was and into a greater, bigger and more malevolent force in music. This time, there’s no surrender.

SELVANS: ritorno dalle ceneri!

Selvans è il nuovo progetto nato da un idea di Selvans Haruspex (tastierista dei disciolti Draugr, con il nome ‘Ursus Arctos’).
La line-up originaria vede la presenza di altri tre ex Draugr: Sethlans Fulguriator (nei Draugr con il nome ‘Mors’) e due dei membri fondatori, Stolas e Jonny;
In seguito alla tragica scomparsa di quest’ultimo in un incidente stradale nel giugno 2014, la band ha pubblicato oggi una versione ‘edit’ del brano ‘Lupercale’ (ascoltabile qui) comunicando la volontà di rendere pubblico entro il 2015 un EP che sarà l’ultimo lascito artistico di Jonny. Di seguito il comunicato ufficilae di Selvans Haruspex.

“L’undici del mese,

un anno fa annunciavo assieme agli altri componenti della band lo scioglimento dei Draugr,
dopo 10 anni di attività;
pochi mesi dopo, nello stesso giorno, ci siamo ritrovati orfani di Jonny, oltre che un amico, da sempre un vero e proprio esempio per tutti noi.

Nei mesi precedenti l’11 giugno, con Jonny, Sethlans Fulguriator (‘Mors’ nei Draugr) e Stolas abbiamo lavorato per far diventare realtà un’idea che avevo in mente da un paio di anni: Selvans, rievocazione sonora, lirica e visiva di misticismo e credenze appartenenti a diverse epoche della storia italiana.
In Selvans Jonny si occupava, oltre che della batteria, anche di voce e testi, ed in poco tempo siamo riusciti a completare i lavori per un primo EP.
A Giugno eravamo pronti per entrare in studio: Jonny aveva scritto e preregistrato le parti di batteria e il 90% delle voci e mai avremmo immaginato di trovarci a dover gestire una situazione così dolorosa.

Solo in Agosto, a due mesi dal tragico evento, abbiamo trovato il coraggio di ascoltare nuovamente le linee vocali che aveva registrato e tornare a parlare di Selvans.
Jonny era entusiasta quanto noi per questo nuovo progetto: stava facendo un ottimo lavoro sui pezzi, improvvisamente ed ingiustamente interrotto. Archiviarlo o abbandonarlo sarebbe stata un’offesa alla sua dedizione, per cui abbiamo deciso di entrare in studio e portare a termine l’EP in sua memoria, aiutati nel lavoro da pochi professionisti selezionati, che conoscevano e stimavano Jonny,e da amici e familiari che erano parte della sua vita come delle nostre.

Di comune accordo abbiamo deciso che mi sarei occupato di scrivere e registrare le linee vocali mancanti, un ruolo che non avevo mai ricoperto prima d’ora ma inevitabile: tra me e Jonny vi era un costante confronto riguardo alle tematiche trattate/da trattare in Selvans e mai saremmo riusciti ad affidare a terzi un compito del genere.

Arriviamo ad oggi con il dovere di far ascoltare l’ultimo lascito artistico di Jonny a tutti coloro che lo hanno conosciuto ed apprezzato come artista. Ogni elemento di questo lavoro ha in se un significato speciale a partire dal titolo, che sveleremo a breve insieme ad altri dettagli.
L’EP vedrà la luce nel 2015 e i suoi pezzi non verranno mai ri-registrati per essere inseriti in lavori futuri di Selvans; sarà ‘l’EP di Jonny’, un segno indelebile per ricordarlo e cominciare questo nuovo percorso forti del suo insegnamento.

Dal loro incredibile debutto nel 1985 con la cover di ‘Money’s To Tight To Mention’, i Simply Red hanno realizzato una serie di album storici che ha definito il genere R’n’B made in UK negli anni Ottanta e Novanta, offrendo a un’intera generazione le gioie della musica soul e la voce unica di Mick Hucknall.

Dopo aver influenzato numerosi giovani artisti nel corso degli anni, i Simply Red tornano con una sorta di rinascita, e sono ancora apprezzati come una delle più grandi band inglesi di sempre.

La band ha concluso i primi 25 anni ininterrotti di carriera con un concerto alla O2 Arena di Londra nel 2010, e ora è arrivato il momento di tornare sul palco insieme. ‘Mi piacciono gli anniversari, e questo è uno importante’, ha detto Mick Hucknall, ‘è il momento giusto’.

L’uscita è prevista per il 27 ottobre in America del Nord / UK / Mondo e il 24 ottobre in Germania / Benelux / Finlandia, via Relapse Records.

A sostegno del nuovo album la band partirà per un nuovo tour Americano e in Europa tra il 2014 e il 2015 assieme a Carcass ed Exumed.
